The 8th Free Medical Treatment offered cooperatively by Khyentse Foundation and Dzongsar Institute to the local people

Since 2012, Dzongsar Institute, in collaboration with Khyentse Foundation India, has been serving the public and the environment by providing a free medical treatment to the local people and promoting the project of cleaning environment every year. As a part of the aforementioned service, this year’s free medical treatment service was conducted at the auditorium of the municipality of Chauntra for four days from 28th November 2019 to the 1st of December. It was the eighth free medical service provided to the local people in India.

The physician Tenzin Norsang and the nurse Tsering Palkyi from Bir Tibetan Health Center, the physician Abhishek Sharma of Chauntra and nurse Lhamo Dolma of Dzongsar Health Center were invited for this year’s free medical treatment service. The three monks of the institute and Khyentse Foundation’s staff who looks after its service in India, Ms. Uma Peta, had come for helping with the arranging work. In the course of four days, checkups for the disease, health advice and medicines for the sick were provided for free.

This time, over 425 people with various chronic diseases like blood pressure, diabetes, skin disease, allergy, deficiency disease, stomach disease, old age related joint pain, and transient diseases like fever, common cold, cough and so on were checked out and given medicines. The free medical treatment bringing a big benefit for the local people was what the municipality had accepted with great value.
