Tashi Gomang; The library

The library was first set up in the year of 2005 and late Khenpo Kunga Wangchuk named it ‘Tashi Gomang’. The library house more than twenty thousand books on ten sciences in Tibetan, Chinese, Hindi and many other languages. Especially the Tibetan Buddhist canons, both Kagyur and Tengyur, and collected works of many masters from various lineages and traditions are stored in the library.

Books that are directly related with the subjects of curriculums are borrowed for whole academic year, while others have to be returned within two weeks. On the other hand some of the books can be read only in the reading room of the library.

We not only borrow books to our own teachers and students but it is also open to teachers, students and researchers from outside too.

The administration has appointed a librarian with two assistants. They look after the borrowing and returning of the books, acquiring new collections and these days they are cataloguing the entire books of the library.
