Environment
The environmental unit
The environmental unit was voluntarily set up in the year of 2009 by a group of students to look after the cleanliness of Shedra’s environment. In the same year it was recognized by the administration and every year a member of the administration is appointed as the head of the unit.
Until the year of 2013 the unit was headed by a Khenpo/Lopen and Trulku Jamsang and there were ten volunteers. From 2014, in order not to disturbed the study of lower classes, the member of this unit are accepted only among the students of class four through eight.
Lead by the environmental unit and in accordance with the vision of Kyabje Khyentse Rinpoche to decrease and eventually terminate waste, the institute has substantially decreased waste and food wastage is almost negligible these days.
