The function of celebrating one year completion of the founding of Dzongsar Kanishka Primary School.

On 17th March 2019, Kanishka Primary School of Dzongsar Khyentse Chokyi Lodro Institute celebrated the function of completing a year of its establishment. Many guests attended the function, among which were His Eminence Dungsey Avikrita Vajra Rinpoche of Sakya Phuntsok Phodrang, both the former abbot Khenchen Rinchen and Khenchen Jamyang Losel along with the present abbot Khenpo Samdup of Dzongsar Khyentse Chokyi Lodro Institute, Lopen Tilnakpa Lodro Palsaong of Dzongsar Higher Studies of Cultural Science, some of the Khenpos and teachers from Dzongsar Institute and Kanishka Primary School and other representatives from nearby institutes and schools. With the principal of Kanishka Primary School Mr. Dhondup Dorjee holding a bunch of incense and all the students holding scarfs in their hands in ceremonial reception, His Eminence Dungsey Avikrita Vajra Rinpoche was honourably invited and received at the function of the school. And with the delivery of the welcome speech by the art and Tibetan language teacher Mr. Tenzin Thinley, the function formally commenced.

In the beginning of the function the principal of Kanishka Primary School Mr. Dhondup Dorjee explained about the function of the day and other school related matters. He pointed out that though the school has been running for one and half year, the function was conducted to commemorate the completion of one year of its actual founding ever since His Eminence Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche formally appointed the principal, teachers and other supporting staffs of the school at the start of the year 2018. The academic learning period of the school was finalized by Khyentse Rinpoche to the span of five years. As of now the school holds the total enrolment of more than 130 students from different Himalayan regions like Nepal, Laddakh, Sikkim and also from Utter Pradesh, Haryana and Pune in India. And finally with the introduction of twenty five staffs of Kanishka Primary School and briefing on the activities performed by the school in the past one year, the principal wraped up his speech.

The function also then had the abbot of Dzongsar Institute Khenpo Samdup explaining about the founding of Dzongsar Higher Studies of Cultural Science and Dzongsar Kanishka Primary School followed by the awarding of prizes of appreciation by His Eminence Dungsey Avikrita Vajra Rinpoche to all the staffs of Kanishka Primary School and to those distinction holders of the school in the academic year 2018.

Then as a part of celebration, under the guidance of English teacher Miss. Tsewang Lhamo, the students of Kanishka Primary School performed various Tibetan, Chinese and English songs. The function ended well with His Eminence Dungsey Avikrita Vajra Rinpoche blessing the audience with his invaluable, advisory speech followed by taking of group photos to capture the day.
