The fifth abbot
The fifth abbot, Dayab Lodoe
Dayab Lodoe, the fifth abbatial throne holder of Dzonsar Khamje Shedra, was born in Dayab region of Kham area. He was renowned as a dedicated seeker of Dharma from a very young age. He was the main teaching holder of Ontoen Khenrab and is also disciples of Jamyang Khyentse Chokyi Lodoe, Ga Ngawang Lekpa, Jamyang Gyeltshen Rinpoche.
Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Chokyi Lodoe made him the abbot of Khamje Shedra after Dezhung Chophel, but due to ill health he was able to serve only three years. He was imprisoned and physically thrashed at Chamdo prison under the old Tibetan government.
Later on he put every offerings that came to him to carve wood block prints for rare books, to create Mandala, miniature paintings for the Treasury of rediscovered teachings. He is a great mendicant.
